PP Systems of Amesbury, Mass
is considered a world leader in the design and manufacture of instrumentation for measurement of photosynthesis, soil respiration, chlorophyll fluorescence, CO2/H2O gas analysis and vegetation reflectance. Mike Doyle (President) and Andy Lintz (Director of R&D) are shown displaying a leaf chamber for use with their CIRAS-2 Portable Photosynthesis System.

PP Systems (110 Haverhill Road, Suite 301 Amesbury, MA 01913) is a leader in the design and manufacture of scientific instrumentation for the plant, soil and environmental sciences. For over 25 years, PP Systems has supported the technology needs of scientists and students throughout the world. Our products are in use in over 100 countries worldwide and are typically used for high level research at universities, government institutes and research laboratories.

PP Systems recently completed a successful stock buyout with two past Directors of the company and technology transfer from the UK to the United States with the assistance and advice of the Newburyport SCORE team which included. Mark R. Rosenzweig, Dick Tarbox and Bahar Thompson. Approximately 10 years ago, a plan was put in place to transfer production and development of all products from its UK office to the U.S. headquarters in preparation for the retirement of 2 Directors. Over these past 10 years, the company has grown in personnel (12 employees) and approximately $4,000,000.00 in revenues. According to Michael L. Doyle (President), “the stock buyout and technology transfer would not have happened as smoothly as it turned out without the advice and guidance that was provided by the SCORE team. The experience and expertise that the SCORE advisors brought to the table was invaluable and a major factor in the success of the company going forward. We look forward to working with Mark, Dick and Bahar in the months ahead.”
